CANCELED - 6Y8 | The New World Disorder, Daniel Yergin and Angela Stent

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, China’s expanding power, upheavals in the Middle East, climate change and fresh energy security challenges--all have turned the world order inside out only in the last couple years. We are lucky to have Pulitzer Prize winning classmate Daniel Yergin and his wife, renowned Russia expert Angela Stent, speak to the class about their research and experiences with these issues, focusing on the perils that lie ahead. Dan’s latest best-selling book is The New Map: Energy, Climate, and the Clash of Nations. He is one of America’s leading experts on the economics of energy, security, and climate change. Angela is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, former national intelligence officer and director emerita of Georgetown University’s Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies. Her two recent prize-winning books are The Limits of Partnership: US-Russian Relations in the Twenty-First Century and Putin’s World: Russia Against the West and With the Rest. Dan and Angela are also media stars and have attended numerous meetings with President Vladimir Putin of Russia over many years -- before the war.
