Yale Film Archive Tour

Founded in 1982 as the Yale Film Study Center and located on the 7th floor of Sterling Memorial Library, the Archive supports teaching, learning, and research while fostering a robust film culture at the university. It became part of Yale Library in 2017 and was renamed to better reflect its full range of activities, membership in the International Federation of Film Archives, and commitment to upholding the standards for preserving and studying film at Yale. See the 3,200-square-foot space, completely renovated in 2021, which includes viewing booths, a state-of-the-art screening room, a film conservation suite with cold storage and flatbed film viewing stations, a poster gallery, and sweeping views of the campus. For access, please use the elevators to the right of the book stack entrance in the Nave. Limited to the first 20 participants.
