Accidental Conflict: America and China on the Brink

In just the past five years, America and China have entered a trade war, a tech war, and a new Cold War. In this talk, Stephen Roach will argue that these conflicts are being enabled by false narratives on both sides — narratives that are more a reflection of each nation’s fears and vulnerabilities than a credible assessment of the risks they face. He will suggest a creative approach for a new road map to a healthier Sino-American relationship.
