On the Practice of Academic Bioethics

Yale's Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics studies the ways life can be respected or abused, especially in academic, scientific, medical, professional and environmental fields. In this talk, Dr. Latham will explore a few of the many practical and theoretical issues that concern academic bioethicists, including stem-cell research, care for lab monkeys, research on child soldiers in Africa, criminalization of HIV transmission, keeping human brains alive in vats, the effects of climate change on those who don't contribute to it, and more.
