FAQs
The reunion will take place over 4 consecutive days on the Yale campus: Thursday 5/28 - Sunday 5/31 2026.
Anyone who self-identifies as a member of the Class of 2021 may attend.
So if, for example, you took a leave of absence that resulted in a later graduation year, but you want to attend Reunion, then we welcome you! Just please make sure to update your Alumni Directory profile so that you’re affiliated with 2021 and thus receive our emails and physical mail (or you can fill out this form and I’ll handle it for you: https://bit.ly/add-2021-comms).
You can come and go as you please, but of course, we encourage you to stay all 4 days to savor the full experience, if possible. We project to begin programming Thursday early afternoon, which is typically when around half of reunion attendees have arrived. Programming will end Sunday afternoon.
Generally, mornings consist of events hosted by Yale and the YAA, while afternoons and evenings consist of class events. The middle two days — Friday and Saturday — are typically the most important, as they contain the grandest events.
See the our schedule here: https://yale.swoogo.com/reunions2026/5thReunion
To attend the reunion, there is an entry fee (that pays for the events).
Fees are per-person:
Full Reunion = $389
Limited Early Bird Tickets = $329 ( goes live March 25th 8:00 PM EST)
If you live on campus, there is also the housing fee ($85 / night).
Our Class Treasury, Yale, and the YAA are not aiming to profit from this reunion; the per-person charge will cover only a small part of our expenditures. We're going to host an amazing reunion for you!
No. It’s a flat ticket price. Some past classes have tried charging by the day, but the financials became too complicated.
Yes. Thanks to the generosity of Yale and the YAA, there will be financial aid available.
The financial aid application will open in February. The application will be simple and fast, and the goal is to meet the financial need of as many classmates as possible. The funds come from Yale, not our Class Treasury. For your privacy, our friends at the YAA (Yale employees) will be the only ones to review your application.
To request confidential assistance fill out this from between February 9-27, 2026.
Email reunions@yale.edu. Also, more info is available at https://alumni.yale.edu/events/yale-college-reunions/yale-college-reunion-accommodations.
No. You can opt out of on-campus housing for any reason. On-campus housing is the default just because it’s the most popular option. If you don’t live in on-campus housing, you don’t pay for on-campus housing.
$85 / night. ($85 / bed / night.)
Yale charges on-campus housing per individual night. So if you stay e.g. 2 nights, then the cost is 2 x $85 = $170.
You can request to room with up to 6 people. That is the largest size suite. One person from the group must fill out this form to get a housing code for the group. Then went each person registers for the reunion they will the group code to their registration so we know who to put together.
No. Each person can choose their number of nights independently.
It depends what’s available. Can’t guarantee. The main dorm will be Silliman, and Silliman has many bunk beds, so that’s likely.
You can put that note on your record and email housing. They will do their best but it is not guaranteed.
Of course. The caveat is that if you don’t live on-campus, then your key card will get you only into the public or semi-public areas, such as the Silliman courtyard and Silliman common areas. This is as long as you are registered for the reunion.
Silliman gets filled first. Then, Old Campus.
You can register for housing during the main reunion registration process. That will open in early March.
Anyone you want to bring. This typically means significant others, children, etc.
Yes. Feel free to. Register your plus-ones on the same reunion registration form (when it comes out in March).
Bring as many as you want. We trust you to use your discretion. (Historically, the 5th Reunion sees ~50 plus-ones per year, and there’s never been a problem.)
Plus-ones 5 years or older pay the regular costs (ticket and housing as applicable).
Plus-ones under 5 years old attend for free.
Plus-ones are essentially treated the same as anyone else (can attend all events, live on campus, etc.).
No. Plus-ones can be anyone. Doesn’t have to be affiliated with Yale.
There are 2 Class Officers (elected):
- Secretary: Bryan Owens, based in NYC
- Treasurer: Curtis Colvett, based in NYC
There are 3 Reunion Chairs (appointed):
- Ornella Bayigamba, based in Chicago
- Ileana Valdez, based in Seattle
- Emma Mueller, based near London
Bryan manages class comms and Class Notes. Curtis manages the Class Treasury and approves budgets. Together with the Class Officers, the Reunion Chairs organize the 5th Reunion.
All terms end in June 2026, so basically after Reunion ends.
We are also grateful to be supported by a team of volunteers who are your fellow classmates.
You can contact any of us!
- Bryan: WhatsApp, bryan.owens@aya.yale.edu
- Curtis: curtis.colvett@gmail.com
- Ornella: ornella.bayigamba@aya.yale.edu
- Ileana: helloileanav@gmail.com
- Emma: muelemm331@gmail.com
There are multiple groups contacting you:
- Your class leadership. We typically email you from yale2021@aya.yale.edu
- Yale College Reunions: reunions@yale.edu. They ultimately manage the Yale side of Reunions, such as housing and registration.
- Reunion Gift Committee: 2021.5threuniongift@yale.edu. They campaign for donations to Yale (NOT to our Class Treasury; these are different orgs).
- Yale Alumni Association (YAA): I’m not sure if they’ve emailed the class yet. The YAA works with us (your class leadership) weekly to nail down details about Reunion. The YAA also handles the financial aid form.
Please don’t do a mass-unsubscribe. Admittedly, the instructions could be improved, as they’re a bit confusing. It’s easy to accidentally unsubscribe from 5th Reunion comms when you actually want it. Please email bryan.owens@aya.yale.edu and state what you want to unsubscribe from, and I’ll take care of it for you.
