The Center for Engineering Innovation and Design, CEID, empowers the Yale community with the space, resources, and mentorship to generate bold ideas, build technical skills, and bring ambitious, inventive projects to life. Open to students, faculty, and staff from all disciplines, CEID is a vibrant community of nearly 3,000 members spanning engineering, art, medicine, architecture, and beyond. It is a place where technical exploration and creative inquiry come together, and where interdisciplinary collaboration is central to both its work and its culture. Situated within Yale Engineering, CEID’s state-of-the-art facility and resources support work ranging from early conceptual exploration and simple modeling to advanced prototyping and high-fidelity fabrication. Through its expansive street-facing windows, the center puts this work on full display, underscoring the role that design, engineering, and interdisciplinary exchange play in Yale’s intellectual and cultural life.
