Lauren Beversluis is a PhD Candidate in History of Christianity at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on early Christian art, and specifically the portrayal of the apostle Peter in late antique Rome. Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Lauren studied political science at Yale before pursuing her Master's in Religion and her PhD from the University of Chicago. This year she taught an undergraduate course of her own design, called "Art as Biblical Interpretation," and has written several articles for the Visual Commentary on Scripture through King's College in London. She also currently works as the director of development and communications for Calvert House, the Catholic Center on campus.
