Shuttle buses will depart from the Omni Hotel at 3:30 PM. Stops include the Graduate Hotel (3:45 PM) and Rose Alumni House (4:00 PM). The shuttle will then continue to complete the loop until ending the route at Rose Alumni House at 5:30 PM.

Check-in opens at 3:30 pm in the Rose Alumni House Great Hall. Please stop by to pick up your weekend credentials and join us for light refreshments before dinner.

Join us for a conversation with David Skelly, Frank R. Oastler Professor of Ecology; Director of the Yale Peabody Museum; Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, followed by lunch in Classroom 118 and free time to view the exhibits.

The YAA portion of the event concludes. Classmates who wish to remain in New Haven can visit the self-organized optional activities tab above.

Dinner at Union League Cafe6:00 PM

The Class of 1953 Treasury will cover dinner at Union League Cafe for attendees still in town. Please note that transportation to and from this dinner is the responsibility of each attendee. Guests staying at the Omni Hotel and Graduate Hotel may enjoy a brief 5–10-minute walk to Union League Cafe.

The Class of 1953 Treasury will cover your hotel stay costs at the Omni Hotel and Graduate Hotel using the specified reservation methods below. Room service charges, incidentals, and parking fees are not included.

Accessibility:
The Omni Hotel offers accessible guest rooms with various mobility features. Please specify your needs when reserving your room with Tanya Baron.

Parking:

  • Valet parking: $29.90 per night (not covered by the Class)
  • Covered self-parking: $23 per night - includes in/out privileges (not covered by the Class)

Shuttle Service:
Shuttles will transport guests to and from the Omni Hotel.

Group Rate:
$194.37 per night.

The Graduate Hotel

Room Block:
A courtesy room block has been reserved at the Graduate Hotel for the Yale Class of 1953 event. A two-night minimum is required. This offer is only available until March 12, 2025. 

Accessibility:
Classmates looking for a hotel within walking distance to Rose Alumni House may book at the Graduate Hotel.
 The Graduate Hotel has limited accessibility. Guests are encouraged to call the Graduate to confirm they can meet your needs before booking.

Shuttle Service:
Shuttles will transport guests to and from the Graduate Hotel.

Parking:

  • Please confirm parking options when reserving with the Graduate Hotel (not covered by the Class).

Group Rate:

$299/night as a courtesy block. A two-night minimum is required.

Visit the Yale Visitor Center to learn more about other hotels in the area. Please note the Shuttle Service is not able to transport guests from these hotels and costs are not covered by the Class Treasurery. 

  • Hotel Parking:

    • If you are staying at the Omni Hotel or the Graduate Hotel, please confirm parking arrangements directly with the hotel. Many hotels provide parking for guests for a nominal fee. Hotel parking fees are not covered by the Class Treasurery. 
  • Yale Peabody Museum Lunch:

    • The visitor lot is available but has limited space (about 40 spaces). Guests parking in the visitor lot will need to validate their parking ticket at the front desk when leaving the Peabody. Street parking is also available but subject to meters, ticketing, and towing. More information can be found on the Visit Peabody page.
  • Additional Parking Options:

    • Street parking is also available but subject to meters, ticketing, and towing.

    • There are several public lots and garages around campus. Make sure to check their rates and operating hours, as not all are open 24 hours a day.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET. Although the event is free, please let us know if you are no longer able to attend. If you need to cancel your registration for the Class of 1953 event, you must also contact your hotel directly to cancel your room reservation. The Yale Alumni Association (YAA) is not responsible for canceling room reservations at the Omni Hotel or The Graduate Hotel.
