REGISTRATION IS CLOSED -- THE VENUE IS AT CAPACITY

We’re delighted that you are planning to attend the Double Nickel, our class 55th birthday celebration, which will take place January 24-26, 2025!

There are two events that require registration, and both will be held at the Yale Club of New York City (50 Vanderbilt Avenue at East 44th Street, across from Grand Central Station).

  • Saturday Night Party - The main event will take place on Saturday evening from 7pm to midnight. Wear your dancing shoes, because class DJs Marco Davis and Rich Lyn-Cook will be spinning all our favorite dance songs. We’ll have hors d'oeuvres, food stations, and dessert, with a wide range of food choices, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options along with an open bar. This event is for adults only.
  • Sunday Brunch - Our Sunday brunch will take place from 10am to 1pm and will also include a range of food options. This event is family-friendly.
  • Friday Night Casual Gathering – Registration is not required for the event on Friday night, but it would be helpful for us to know how many people are likely to attend, so please indicate if you think you’ll be there. The gathering will start at 7pm at Connolly’s, 14 East 47th Street, second floor, with light bites and a cash bar. This event is for adults only. (Please note that there is another Connolly’s location and be sure to come to 14 East 47th Street!)

  • Our Yale Club room block is full, and the Yale Club is fully booked for the weekend, but if you’d like to check for any cancellations, please call 212-716-2100 and mention the “Y92 Double Nickel” room block.

Registration is also required for our Saturday daytime activities. We can still add more options – let us know if you’d like to organize something! We will share additional details on where to meet, etc, with those registered for these activities closer to the date.

  • Free Indoor Skiing/Snowboarding at Big SNOW American Dream with Dave Belin (PC) – Dave is organizing an amazing opportunity to ski for free at North America's only real snow indoor ski dome, Big SNOW at the American Dream Mall – just a 25-minute rideshare from NYC. Join classmates for a free two-hour session of skiing or snowboarding in this winter wonderland! Bring gloves and ski socks – all rental equipment and clothing (jacket, pants, helmet) are included. Classmates can meet to travel to Big SNOW together and/or coordinate to meet there (aiming for around 11 a.m.), and after the 2-hour skiing/snowboarding session, American Dream has many options for lunch. Please contact Dave at davebelin@comcast.net by January 22nd if you'd like to join. This event is limited to 20 people and will be first come, first served, with one guest per classmate. If you wish to bring more than one guest, Dave can provide specifics on how to purchase additional passes.
  • American Kennel Club Meet the Breeds with Jenn Peltz (SM) – Jenn and interested classmates will gather at the Javits Convention Center at 10am to meet and learn about dozens of different dogs at this unique event for dog lovers. Tickets are $35 and you can find details here (but don’t purchase your ticket online – we have purchased tickets at a discounted group rate).
  • Madison Square Park History Tour with Holly Leicht (BK), Executive Director of the Madison Square Park Conservancy – Holly will give a history tour of the park, which has been a public space since 1686, and its neighborhood, which was the social center of NYC during the Gilded Age. Bring your hot beverage, and/or stop to get one after the tour! There will be two tours, one at 11am and one at noon.
  • Manhattan Thrifting Expedition with Jessica Greenfield (PC) – Jessica will meet interested Y92s at 1pm for a group visit to two great thrift stores that are on the same block in Chelsea and will also provide a curated list of other NYC thrift stores if you want to explore further on your own.

Two notes on pricing:

  • We have tried to keep prices as low as possible. In fact, the ticket prices of $200 for Saturday night and $50 for brunch are lower than the actual cost, thanks to a subsidy from our class treasury. (Your class dues in action – many thanks to those who contribute!)
  • We do not want the cost to be a barrier to attendance – if you or any classmate you know needs financial assistance to attend, please contact janet.cappiello@yale.edu

We can’t wait to celebrate with you in January. Please be in touch with any questions or suggestions!
