Classmates Chris Rothko, Jeremy Kargon, and Jim Lowe invite you to join them for a special weekend in Washington, D.C., featuring art, history, and time together with fellow classmates.

On Saturday, January 16, 2027, Chris Rothko will lead a private tour of his father’s artwork at The Phillips Collection from 2:00–4:00 p.m. A reception will follow the tour.

On Sunday, January 17, Jeremy Kargon has arranged a special VIP tour of the Dibner Rare Science Book Collection. Following the tour, classmates will gather for lunch at the acclaimed Sweet Home Café at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Space for these events is strictly limited, and we encourage you to reserve your spot as soon as possible. Registration closes September 30, but we expect the weekend to reach capacity well before the deadline.

Time: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Classmate Christopher Rothko and curator Eliza Rathbone will lead us through the Avery-Gottlieb-Rothko exhibition “By the Sea,” at the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C.. A reception hosted by classmate Jim Lowe will follow.

After the tours Chris will take questions from the Class in the

gallery's auditorium.

The Class will tour the archive of the Smithsonian’s Dibner Library, home to rare books significant to the history of science. Afterwards, the Class will enjoy lunch at the Sweet Home Cafe of the National Museum of African American History.
